Welcome to the USS Athena!

“You’ll lack neither courage nor sense from this day on.” - Athena (in Homer’s The Odyssey)

In ancient Greek mythology Athena was the Olympian goddess of wisdom and good counsel, war, the defence of towns, heroic endeavour, weaving, pottery and various other crafts.

All of those things are to be expected in the stories we want to tell. (Including even the part about weaving and pottery, if you’re so inclined!)

The USS Athena is a proud member of Taskforce 72 in Obsidian Fleet

The USS Athena is assigned to escort a high-level Federation Ambassador to complete the accession of a new member world - Paratus IV. Although deemed overkill to deploy the ship for this assignment, it seems the Ambassador herself has a number of particularly outrageous demands during the journey.

But what unknown dangers will await the crew once they arrive at their destination?

Hi all

It's that time of the year when gifts are given, and we've gotten two new gifts ourselves here on the Athena!

Please join me in welcoming Lt Commander Peter Horn, head of Strategic Operations, and Lieutenant Noah Reed (MD) our new Chief Medical Officer.

This puts us in really good shape going forward, and as mentioned on the Discord channel I'll be looking to wrap our existing mission and kicking us off something new at the turn of the year.

Merry Christmas!

A new assignment. Why did that have to go with a physical? Mason stomped into the medical bay, clearly not pleased at having to submit to a physical when his file was very much up to date. "Stupid physicals," he muttered under his breath, "I'm perfectly healthy, surely he can…

Mission: In the Family
Posted on Sat Feb 15th, 2020 @ 10:32am by Commander Jacob Kane & Lieutenant Savin

The ship had been shaking. Not having served on a Prometheus before, Savin didn't correlate the shaking of the deckplates with the ship separating into three sections. The feeling was an unsettling one, not knowing what something meant. He did see the red alert lights, but didn't hear the accompanying…
